Two contests are offered each month to dues-paid members. There is an Assigned Topic that offered two choices and an Open Topic of your choice. Members may enter one or both, however, only one poem may be entered in each topic.
Poems that are previously published are acceptable. A poem that has previously won an AAPT award are not eligible.
Poems are sent to a judge who judges both contests. A different judge is used each month. The judge is encouraged to make comments about each poem. The Contest Chair is in charge of getting the poems to the judge and back to the members at the next meeting.
Each member will select two poems for an anthology; these poems are due in May.
